Well if you’ve seen the nudity seen in Erykah Badu’s latest video “Window Seat” than you know she’s in a bit of trouble behind bearing it all publicly. Badu was charged with disorderly conduct charges for her role in the video. After receiving a complaint from an unidentified citizen, Dallas police decided to go forward with the charges. The misdemeanor citation, which is punishable by a $500 fine was mailed to Badu’s house in early April.
Badu has decided to plead not guilty to the charges. Badu maintains that the nudity was not at attempt at indecency but rather a commentary on self-acceptance. “I thought it was a move for women and men and children who feel they weren’t good enough,” she said in an interview. “‘This is just me. I’m good enough.’ I felt it was important enough to do. More pros than cons.” Shame on you Dallas for treating your native daughter so harshly.
