Timbaland is Newest Honoree At VH1 Hip Hop Honors

Virginia-bred producer and rapper Timberland has been added as an honoree at this year’s VH1 Hip Hop Honors, in which this year the network is honoring a collective group of rappers from the south and their contributions to hip hop.

Timberland born Timothy Mosley comes from Norfolk, Virginia and rose to the ranks as one of the top hip hop producers in the game after co-producing late R&B singer Aaliyah’s second album 1996′s One in a Million. Since then he has produced tracks for Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Gnarls Barkley, Justin Timberlake, friend and producing partner Missy Elliot, and numerous other artist.

Timberland also runs his own record label Mosley Music Group,in which he records most of his work for his albums as well as tracks for other artist at the label’s studio in Virginia.

Other rappers who will be honored at this years VH1 Hip Hop Honors: Dirty South will be Jermaine Dupri, Luther “Luke” Campbell, 2 Live Crew, Master P, and J Prince of Rap A Lot Records.

The show will be hosted this year by by actor/comedian Craig Robinson and will air on VH1 on Monday, June 7 at 9:00 P.M.
