Director Antoine Fuqua, recently told Digital Spy that his next film that he is set to direct is a film about the life of legendary slain rapper Tupac Shakur.
Fuqua whose most recent film was “Brooklyn’s Finest”, told Digital Spy, “It looks like we’re doing Tupac Shakur’s movie next in September, that’s what I’ve been starting up and working on now. I’ve been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we’re going in September. I’ve just started to prep that.”
Besides the film about Shakur’s life, Fuqua has numerous other projects in development such as the action/thriller Consent to Kill, as well as a film in which he is rumored to be reuniting with actor Bruce Willis on.
However there have been no details released yet on who will play Shakur in the film,but Fuqua stated that he would like for an unknown actor/rapper to fill Shakur’s shoes in the film.
There is also no details about the film’s script that have been released yet.
Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas in September 1996, while riding in a car with former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight.
