As Hip-Hop Weekly’s sizzling Summer Issue and 3D swimsuit calendar continues to fly off the shelves, photographers Sito Barreo for Benhur Photography and Eduardo Valdes for OTB Photography talk to HHW about the creative process behind the innovative eye-candy calendar and summer issue.
“We wanted to do something new that’s never been done before calendar wise,” explained Sito. “What we wanted to do was keep it tropical and pick the hottest girls in the game right now and do a 3-D calendar in Miami. We shot with 35mm to keep the pictures sharp so that when you put on those glasses that depth would still be in the pics.”
The calendar features 12 of the most beautiful and exotic ladies from every ethnicity drawn from every corner of the world dressed in custom made bikinis and bathing suits by FB Legacy.
“In terms of the girl selection, we looked at who had the hottest Twitter accounts, who where the hottest models making noise right now, continued Sito.” “We then narrowed it down to who had the most followers and had the most going on right now. So we had a nice balance of ethnicity and flavors that were from LA, Texas, Miami, New York.”
Eduardo, who shot Amber at the luxurious Grand Beach Hotel in Miami, had this to say about the successful project: “I pretty much wanted to shoot Amber as if she was a tourist in Miami. So the concept was me shooting her as she explored and traveled around Miami. I did shots that tried to capture her enjoying Miami as if it were her first time.”
“In the end, we got some great shots of Amber that really exemplifies the type of lifestyle Miami has to offer.”
