Ne-Yo and his booking agent are required to pay more than $156,000 in damages because he failed to appear at a 2008 New Year’s Eve concert in Washington as reported on Yahoo! news. Looks like someone didn’t handle business in a gentleman manner.
Basically the promoter believes the booking agent misled him and did not return the $95,000 deposit. At court Ne-Yo stated that in his “heart of hearts” he knew the deposit should have been returned. After the missed appearance the promoter was no longer able to successfully run his business and had to take a job as a military contractor.
If he knew he was in the wrong why didn’t he work something out with the promoter without having to go to court? Well, it seems like justice has been served.
