Hip-Hop Weekly beat out Ozone Magazine, Source Magazine, XXL Magazine, Sista 2 Sista and Upscale Magazine among others to win the coveted YGEA Best Urban Magazine award.
The winners for the major categories presented were: Hip Hop Weekly, Urban Magazine; DJ Trauma, Mainstream Mixtape DJ; Drumma Boy, Mainstream Producer; Cristyle, Songwriter of the Year; Hip Hop Blog, Urban Blog Site; Raheim Shabazz, Video Director; Danielle Canada, Hip Hop Writer; Prince Williams, Event Photographer; Kim Maxwell, Fashion Stylist, and Nicole Garner, Go Getta of the Year.
The 2010 YGEA Award Honorees were: Debra Antney, Mizay Entertainment who was presented with a Visionary Award, Greg Street was presented with a Community Involvement Award, Shanti Das with an Executive Achievement Award, and Chaka Zulu with an Industry Achievement Award.
The YGEA Awards recognizes mainstream and independents for their accomplishments and highlights various people who are behind the scenes and play a significant role in the Entertainment Industry.
