While sitting down with Matt Lauer during a recent interview, George Bush commented on Kanye’s apology about him not caring about Black people. Hit the jump to see what he had to say.
Here’s what Kanye said to Matt:
“I would say of George Bush, in my moment of frustration, I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist,” West said, in a clip shown live to Bush—who called the accusation the lowest point of his presidency—during the interview. “But I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don’t always choose the right words.”
Here’s what Bush said to Matt about Kanye’s apology:
“I appreciate that,” Bush said of the apology. “It wasn’t just Kanye West who was talking like that during Katrina, I cited him as an example, I cited others as an example as well. You know, I appreciate that.”
I figured you get a kick outta this picture.
