The gorgeous chart-topper reveals her breakup from Chris was ‘freeing!’

Rihanna, 22, has come a long way since her dark days with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The knockout is at the top of her game with a No. 1 hit on the Billboard charts, “Only Girl (In The World)” and her new album Loud is a best-seller. But the beauty from Barbados tells British GQ that while her violent relationship with Chris, 21, made her stronger, she also says, “It’s a moment in my life I wish would disappear.”

“I witnessed it happening to my mom and I said I would never let that happen to me — and then it was happening,” she reveals. “Now, when I look back, it bugs me out that I couldn’t see it for what it was.”

But Rihanna, who is now in a serious relationship with LA Dodger Matt Kemp, says dumping Chris in 2009 was the best decision she’s ever made.

“I left,” she says. “It was the best feeling. It was so freeing.
