Find out more about the initiative and how you can get a $25 transit card courtesy of Diddy, Ciroc, and New York’s DOT after the jump.
Diddy and Ciroc will be partnering up with New York City’s DOT again this year for their You the Man safe rides initiative to fight drunk driving over the holidays season.
For the third consecutive year, Ciroc, the NYC DOT and E! Entertainment Television will be combining forces to distribute 2,000 pre-paid debit cards at high traffic locations in NYC, good for up to $25 worth of transportation in the city’s taxicabs, participating car services, MTA subway booths, PATH trains and NJ transit through January 1, 2011 11:59PM. The program has extended the distribution of its “taxi cards” to the outer boroughs this year, and has increased the value of the debit cards to $25, to reflect the average cost of an inter-borough taxi ride.
“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ Ciroc has made a huge impact over the last two years by helping New York get home safely, so I’m proud to announce that we’re bringing the program back in an even bigger way,” said Diddy. “New York is the world’s most iconic holiday destination, so I’m excited to lead by example to demonstrate that a smooth, sophisticated holiday season doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.”
The taxi cards will be distributed through New York City on Dec. 11, 17 and 31. To find out when and where follow You the Man NYC on Twitter or Facebook
