Legendary hip hop group the “Funky Four Plus One More” with DJ Breakout and DJ Baron to be honored at Hollis Famous Burgers/Hip Hop Museum

Mr. Orville Hall, Owner, Curator and Hollis Pioneer Hip-Hop Artist and Producer regularly honors Hip Hop legends. On Monday, March 14, 2011 at 6:00 pm the Funky Four Plus One More with DJ Breakout and DJ Baron will be honored at this thirty-one year-old Hollis Queens institution. More info after the jump.

The Funky Four Plus One More are the first Hip Hop group from the Bronx, New York receive a record deal. They also hold the distinction of being the first Hip Hop group to perform live on a national television show on February 14, 1981 that program was “Saturday Night Live.” Sha-Rock, KK Rockwell, Keith-Keith, Rodney C, Jazzy Jeff and DJ Breakout made history when they appeared on Saturday Night Live and we will celebrate their 30th anniversary on this broadcast and their influence on foundation of Hip Hop since the original Funky Four (Sha-Rock, KK Rockwell, Rahiem and Keith-Keith) formed in 1977 in the early days of the Hip Hop Movement.

Hip Hop Pioneers and enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and meet these pioneers of Hip Hop. You will not be disappointed and will have the opportunity to view over 150 artifacts from Hollis Queens Hip-Hop Pioneer Greats.
