Trina and Eve were both in attendance at the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME) Awards On March 12th which is also often referred to as the ‘Jamaican Grammys. The two iconic rappers were both in attendance both as performers and Trina was awarded as The International Friend of Reggae.
The 2011 International Friend of Reggae Honouree was popular American rapper, songwriter, model and businesswoman, Trina. On her latest album, Amazin’, she collaborated with Jamaica’s very own Lady Saw and Trinidadian-American sensation, Nicki Minaj, on a song titled, Dang A Lang. She also did a song with the original Jamaican Barbee who won Video Of The Year last year with the hit reggae song, “Feels So Good”. The song Come See About Me featuring the sex symbol rap star was leaked last summer but has been remixed for a re-release this year along with a smoking hot video with Barbee featuring Trina.
Eve, who in 2007 collaborated with Sean Paul on the reggae-tinged single Give It To You — came knocking on reggae’s door again in 2010,when she recorded another successful collaboration with Dancehall Diva Lady Saw – He’s at My House, from Saw’s album My Way
The two female acts up the ante with their performance at the EME Awards. It is the very first time they performed their collaboration live and Saw couldn’t wait. “I feel extremely excited about performing with Eve. I can’t wait to see her. We have been communicating a lot on BB in recent weeks. We have been good friends for a while now”, she said before the performance.
