Of course the money is good but as she revealed to me in this exclusive interview about her short time in adult entertainment and her rise and crossover to the modeling game, her walk makes “pimping look easier”… Check it out!!!
It’s been three years since Kimmi Kennedy graced the pages of Hip Hop Weekly and she credits HHW as one of the magazines that gave her a chance to shine when so many doors were closed at first. A single mother, a Hurricane Katrina survivor, a businesswoman and a sultry creole from New Orleans, Her resume reads like a road map or an instructional book on what to do to become a marketable, bankable urban model, in a game that’s getting thousands of new faces daily. This is the first time that she has discussed her adult film involvement anywhere. This is the exclusive story. Come #FollowMe…….
HHW: How is life treating you Kimmi?
KK: I can’t complain..I’m blessed to still be here & still be buzzing after all this time. Most models fade away.
HHW: What have you done since being in HipHopWeekly as one one our Net Chicks?
KK: Well alot actually, King Magazine Webgirl, Smooth Magazine on the cover and a 8 page layout as well as being in the Smooth’s HOT100 two years in row. Straight Stuntin, and numerous others…. Print and many website features. i dont count anymore… lol
HHW: After conquering all there is to conquer as a model, what’s next for Kimmi Kennedy?
KK: A book, internet reality show and acting but I also wanna try stand-up comedy! I might suck but there’s only one way to find out right? I think I’m funny and so does everyone who knows me!!
HHW: How did you make the transition from adult entertainer to being the hottest urban model?
KK: They did’nt make it easy & still don’t. There was nothing in between I was never in the industry to become a “STAR” though I did do a couple features. I wasn’t comfortable mentally or physically in front of the camera before I started but I did it for reasons I will disclose later in my book. (An auto-biography about my life) Neither during [The actual performance] because It was very un-natural to me. Though I am a sexual person, its usually just with one person so I had inner conflict every time, so I just quit. I created my own company, directed & produced and distributed my own line of films. Then eventually I just broke ties. I would’nt consider myself an adult entertainer considering I was only around the adult industry for 3 months (amateur at best). But thanks to the internet content and my “haters”, who constantly feel the need to remind me of who I used to be… it will live on forever. I was always Kimmi Kennedy but no-one wanted to help me start modeling, I had one the best photographers (Richard Franklin) who was a very good friend but sabotaged me with Marcus Blassingame during a photoshoot for Black Mens at his house., then I went to Sheree English and she blew me off. Then I just said F*CK THEM ALL! I went and invested some serious money, shot some of the dopest pics I knew how, got on the net, branded myself to no end and the rest is history. A lot of people felt I didn’t have the right to do what I had done, meaning, crossing over to the mainstream. So I caught hell and still do catch a lot of opposition from the mainstream side. As if I am inferior to these other chicks & people who wouldn’t deal with me before. Just know that all the people who I met while I was involved in [the adult industry] still support me & are very proud that I did something that they may have wanted to do but were unable or just too afraid because of the stigma that’s attached. I did this for me and for them. ANYTHING IS POSSBILE!! And thats why I’m still here…. I can’t change my past but can brighten my future.
HHW: Do you have any regrets about being in the adult entertainment industry?
KK: Of course because some people instantly judge me and think that’s all I am, when I’m so much more complex. Even though it was 6 years ago and only 3 months of my life, it continues to haunt me, people won’t let it die. The evil ones keep trying to bring it back into my life. I’m like “like let it go! Don’t be mad because I successfully changed my life.” People think it hurts me but I’m not embarrassed, it’s just not who I am, now, nor who I ever was and that is all. Again as I said I did it for reasons I will disclose in my book later. I have a young son and I don’t need for him to be exposed to all that, so thats one of my biggest fears. But it is what it is and it’s apart of my life. Not my whole but it helped make me who I am today. No looking back only forward! I’m blessed!
HHW: You are one of the most down to earth woman I’ve met, so what do kind of man can lockdown Kimmi Kennedy?
KK: Gotta be sexy, secure mentally, emotionally & financially. Just be good to me! Must have your own stuff! House, money, car and be stable. I like dudes with no kids because I can’t deal with “baby mama drama.” Thats about it and oh yeah, the occasional shopping trip 
HHW: So are you single? Take your time, bae!
KK: VERY SINGLE almost 6 years now. I have been so focused on my career that I haven’t had my heart open. I dont go out much so I dont meet many people but I’m about to start because life is too short!!
HHW: Do you have any other aspirations like music or starting your own modeling agency?
KK: Yes music, I got a video being shot for a single that’s being released this year. I have a few other songs in the making, the video i shot, I maybe re-shooting it with a different treatment. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon so they better get used to it!! HATE IT OR LOVE IT!! As longs as I got fans I’m going to entertain them I LOVE YOU ALL!!
HHW: What would be the crowning moment for you as a model?
KK: I really don’t have one… I’m just doing me babe…..(note*she called me babe)
