Host Ameer Baraka, who grew up in New Orleans’ notorious Calliope Projects, knows the streets and masterfully gets right at every detail to let the fans know the real deal. The pool of subjects is limitless, as is the potential for this incredibly captivating new series.
Baraka, himself a former inmate who did hard time as a youth, is now one of America’s brightest acting talents, starring opposite Academy Award winner Forrest Whitaker in a soon-to-be-released feature film, and stealing scenes as a character on HBO’s acclaimed ‘Treme,’ this veteran of countless TV commercials, films, videos, and print is also the driving force behind New Orleans’ celebrated Circle of Courage program that provides wayward, at-risk youth with positive role models and avenues to academic success and self improvement. Let The Hood Talk is shooting for early June to release. Stay tuned…..
