This past Thursday, New York’s rapper Fabolous and Roc Nation recording artist J.Cole performed at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC for the CUNY Hunter concert. The show was sold out; jammed pack wall-to-wall. As the cheerful college students waited in line to enter the ballroom, they started screaming “We want Fabolous and J. Cole.”

Atlanta’s up and coming rapper Lil Playboii opened up the show. He performed his new single “Kitty Good (P***y)” and a few tracks off his latest mixtape Magic City, hosted by DJ Scream. Back Stage, Don Bleek of HHW caught up with Lil Playboii for an exclusive interview.

After Lil Playboii exited the stage, Jay-Z’s protegé J. Cole entered the stage. He put on a great show. His stage presence was great and the crowd rocked with him. J. Cole performed “Higher,” It Won’t Be Long, and “Enchanted.” During the middle of his set, J. Cole took a few minutes to pay respect to his drummer and DJ. He allowed them to showcase their talents. After that, Cole recited his verses to “All I Want Is You,” “It Won’t Be Long,” “A Star Is Born” and “Looking For Trouble.” Cole closed out his set by performing “Who Dat.” Also Cole walked in the crowd to sign autographs and gave his fans handshakes & hugs; as his new single “Disgusting” played in the background.

A little after 11pm, Fabolous took the stage. The Bed-Stuy native opened up his set with “Imma Do Me” and “Body Ya.” Brooklyn was definitely in the building reppin for Loso’s. When he said, “Where Brooklyn at?” Almost everybody in the audience screamed to the top of their lungs. After that, Fab took it back to the beginning of his career, by performing “Breathe,”  ”Can’t Deny It,” “Holla Back Youngin,” and “Let You Go.” Loso even kept it Brooklyn by bringing out his Partner-N-Rhyme Red Cafe. The duo performed “I’m Ill.” The biggest surprised of the night was when Loso brought out Queens rapper Lloyd Banks, who performed “Start It Up.” The fans were hyped to see The Boy Wonder. Toward the end, Fab tuned it down a little and performed the standout track from The S.O.U.L. Tape, “Really Tho” and other tracks off the mixtape. Loso closed out his set by performing “You Be Killin Em.”
