Just like Jay-Z and Lauryn Hill, YMCMB rapper Lil Wayne is set to appear on MTV’s Unplugged. The show is scheduled to air June 12 on MTV, MTV2 and MTV.com. As of press, no word on what songs Weezy will be performing. Lil Wayne’s new album Tha Carter IV will be in stores and online June 21.

Amy Doyle, an EVP at MTV said, “Lil Wayne is an amazing choice for Unplugged as he is at hip-hop’s forefront — leading a new generation of artists whose appeal spans across music genres and playlists. Lil Wayne’s skills, influence and catalog are a powerful addition to the legacy of artists who have rocked the Unplugged stage.”
