Flavor Flav’s Fried Chicken closed its doors after only three months, but the business is still running into legal issues. The food distribution company that supplied the restaurant with food products is suing the rapper’s former partner for over $12,000.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution, Inc. is owed back payments and is suing Flavor Flav’s former business partner and owner of Flav’s Friend Chicken Nicolo Cimino. The company is after $12,153 in damages, interest and attorney’s fees.
The lawsuit is the latest in a string of controversies that have swirled around the business.
Employees previously complained about bounced paychecks, then Cimino engaged in a war of words with Flav in the media which resulted in the rapper pulling out of the business, and then Tommy Karas, Flavor Flav’s former business partner, alleged that the Public Enemy star pocketed $30,000 in investors’ money.
