The location is the Highline Ballroom in New York City. Pharrell Williams, 38 is standing with his band mates Chad Hugo, 37 and Shay Haley, 38. To think, these men are just a few years away from being 40-years-old and don’t appear to look a day over 25. The trio are on a national tour called “Search for the Coldest” (a competition for the next coldest emcee). Writer/Reporter Lathleen goes behind the scenes of the invite only show  and asks the funk rock group, what should we expect from them this summer, and what they like least about their careers!

Pharrell Williams on stage of the N.E.R.D. Concert

“This is Chad,” Pharrell says. He makes sure to introduce his band mate Chad Hugo who is responsible for producing number one hits for N.E.R.D. (No one Ever Really Dies), he plays the piano, guitar and saxophone. Pharrell did not leave out Shay the other member of the trio who Pharrell cites as being the root of the group. The three talk in unity and seem very happy. Chad is hiding behind lime green glasses while band mate Shay has dark locs that fall onto his face protected by a black baseball cap.

Universal Motown’s Sylvia Rhone gracefully enters the room. She greets Pharrell and members. N.E.R.D is ready for the stage. Hot 97′s Cipha Sounds and Rosenburg introduce the band. The crowd roars once Pharrell and Shay take the mic and Chad on the piano. They perform their hottest tracks and bring out surprise guest Pusha T.
