This past Thursday (June 2), Brooklyn’s rapper Jay-Z and his protege Kanye West were spotted walking around in the Soho section of Manhattan. They were joined by Akon’s brother, Def Jam VP of A&R Bu Thiam. Hova and Yeezy are putting the finishing touches on their upcoming collaboration album Watch The Throne; which has been confirmed for a July release date.

Atlanta’s rapper Young Jeezy begin shooting the video to his song “Ballin” Ft. Lil Wayne; earlier in the week. The track is the lead single off Jeezy’s forthcoming LP Thug Motivation 103. The album was rumored to be coming out on July 26; which is the sixth anniversary of his debut album Let Get It: Thug Motivation 101. However, a rep for Def Jam has confirmed that no such date has been set. Peep the pictures below:

Last year, it was reported that Jay-Z and Kanye West are dropping a collaboration album, titled Watch the Throne. There were a few scheduled rumored release dates. According to XXLMag.com, ”a source close to Jay-Z and Kanye West says the album has a release month: July.” The source told XXLmag.com, that Hova and Yeezy are both in New York for the next couple of weeks putting the final touches on the set in hopes of releasing it next month.

Since Rick Ross’ home team (Miami Heat) made it to the last round of the 2011 NBA finals, the Teflon Don released a dedication track titled “Finals” Ft. Meek Millz and Gunplay. The track was produced by D.Rich. At the end of the track, it sounds like Rick Ross is throwing shots at Young Jeezy. Last night Thursday (June 2) ,the Mavericks defended the Heat, in a surprising victory. The final score was 95-93. The series is now tied 1-1. Listen to the track below:

Def Jam emcee Nas performed at the Gansevoort Plaza in New York City, yesterday Thursday (June 2). The show was part of the Bacardi Rums “Like It Live, Like It Together” event. New York’s/Power 105 DJ Evny was on the turntables, as the Def Jam emcee performed “It Ain’t Hard To Tell” and “Made You Look”. Watch the video below:

Atlanta’s rapper Cyhi Da Prynce will be releasing his new mixtape Royal Flush 2, on June 14. Kanye West’s protege rose to fame in September 2010; after signing to his G.O.O.D. Music label. He appeared on the track “Looking For Trouble,” off Kanye West’s last album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Over the years, Cyhi has released four mixtapes, with the latest being Royal Flush.
