Since Memphis is the cooking capital, it’s no accident that DJ Paul and Juicy J were selected to appear on “Famous Foods.”

VH1 is going to put the concept to the test by partnering with renowned restauranteurs, The Dolce Group, to give seven celebrities the chance to turn one of their West Hollywood, CA properties into a flourishing and fully-operating restaurant. Joining the cast is Heidi Montag (“The Hills”), who not only has a passion for food, but also knows a thing or two about the restaurant business, especially after dealing with the unfortunate demise of her parent’s restaurant. Academy Award-Winning artists, DJ Paul and Juicy “J” (from rap group Three 6 Mafia), who both have experience in the kitchen and have dreams of hosting a cooking show, will finally be given the opportunity to bring their culinary expertise to the table. Working with them, a cast of food connoisseurs in their own right, Danielle Staub (“Real Housewives of New Jersey”), Jake Pavelka (“The Bachelor”), Ashley Dupre (Singer) and Vincent Pastore (“The Sopranos”) have always had the desire to pursue their visions and conquer the restaurant world. For eight weeks, this colorful crew of celebrities will roll up their sleeves and work together to launch their own restaurant, aptly named, Famous Food. This new one-hour, ten episode series is set to premiere Sunday, July 10 at 10pm.
 Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore are the founding members of The Dolce Group and they define what it takes to open a successful celebrity restaurant. Some of their well-known Hollywood establishments include Ketchup, Angels & Kings, Geisha House and Ten Pin Alley, among others.

HHW: How was it working with the celebrities and chefs on the show?
DJ PAUL: Without giving too much away, it was a great experience. Although a lot happened.

Any fights?
DJ PAUL: You’ll see.

What did you like most about the series?
JUICY J: What I liked about it is that it was very interesting. We want to win, so we made sure we came in with our music business experience and we did our thing.

Too bad we can’t find out who wins. Have you two always been interested in food?
JUICY J: I love food, Memphis is the home of food, all we do is cook.
I love ribs, Chinese food, Italian, sushi, greasy stuff, healthy stuff.
DJ PAUL: We can definitely cook.

What was it like being on the series?
Juicy J: It was a great experience learning how to run a restaurant.

Did you get close to the cast?
JUICY J: We were close to everybody.

Would you do another reality show, if asked?
Juicy J: Maybe. It depends on what it is, but we won’t say no to a check!

When will we hear the new Three 6 Mafia album?
DJ Paul: We’re doing shows and we have an album coming out later this year.
JUICY J: I just did a mixtape with Lex Luger.

Could you ever top what happened with the Oscars?
DJ PAUL: Probably not, but you never know.
