Newlywed R&B star Monica has found herself in the middle of a family feud. The singer recently collaborated with Rick Ross, Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim for the single, “Anything.” The song samples David Porter’s “I’m Afraid the Masquerade Is Over” used for the Notorious B.I.G’s classic “Who Shot Ya?” and the Queen Bee cribs a few lines from the Biggie hit in her verse.

According to Monica’s twitter account Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace has stopped the single from being released because Lil’ Kim appears on the song. As custodian of Biggie’s estate Ms. Wallace approves any samples of her late son’s music.
“I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She’s our friend, a legend,” Monica wrote. “Lil Kim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked and I’m fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate.”
