Nicki Minaj is the latest artist to have her life documented by the folks at the E! entertainment channel. The one-hour-long special features a glimpse at the Young Money queen’s career from its earliest days up until now, when she has become one of mainstream hip-hop’s biggest artists.
The most interesting portion is actually the first third, when her fifth-grade teacher explains how Nicki used to do all sorts of weird voices (sound familiar?) when answering questions in class. You then learn about how she became interested in rap when one of her friends started rhyming, which led to Nicki splitting her days between a 9-to-5 gig and a studio.
