According to reports, R. Kelly is currently laid up in a Chicago hospital after undergoing emergency throat surgery this week.

The 44-year old singer had been complaining about a severe sore throat. After an examination by doctors Kelly was rushed into surgery to have an abscess removed from his tonsils.

Kelly’s publicist Allan Mayer said Wednesday that the singer will be “laid up indefinitely” at Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Maybe he should to stop eating…never mind.
