HHW goes In The Lab with Ace Hood.

HHW: How long have you been working on your album BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS?
Ace Hood: Actually, I been working on it for about 4 or 5 months now…and might I add its coming out like a masterpiece.
Where is your favorite place to record and why?
I would have to say We The Best studio simply because it’s home…very good vibes and plus I wrote some of my biggest hits there so a lot of history there.
What type of vibe do you like or try to create while working in the studio?
Just a relaxed environment to allow the thoughts to really flow…definitely a lot of tea, orange juice and my favorite M&M cookies then its a go! Lol
When do you prefer to have your recording sessions? Is the time of day relevant to your creativity?
Time really doesn’t matter but I prefer nighttime…definitely doesn’t interfere with the creative process though.
What are a few things that’s a must have at your sessions?
Women and more women…M&M cookies, hot tea…lights low in the studio…lights off in the booth…and depending on the mood 1 rose bottle on ice.
How did you come up with the album title?
I just felt like what’s a word or words that can truly describe what I been through in my life…and it took a while but BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS was the ultimate fit for it…my life testimony.
How do you know or determine that you have had a successful session?
When I’ve came out the studio with a couple hits and maybe 7 to 8 records recorded that’s like the minimum for me…but as long as hits is the outcome then the day was successful.
Who are sum of the producers u worked with on the album as well any features?
I pretty much kept it mainly in-house and upcoming producers like the Renegades they We The Best white hot, the homie Cardiak, Sonny Digital, and Justice League. And I’m still working so that’s just a few.
If there was one thing you wanted people to know about ACE HOOD what would that be?
I’m a chef lol nah…but I’m into graphic design. I was actually gonna go to school for it.
On your last album Gutta you gave us songs like “Cashflow,” “Overtime” and “Champion,” what can we expect on this one?
With this Blood Sweat & Tears project it’s definitely my life testimony. I’m giving you records such as “Hustle Hard,” ”Gon Get It,” ”Lord Knows”…just basically things that I’ve been through, my trials and tribulations in life and what It took to get here.
Let’s talk about your first single “Hustle Hard,” how did that come about?
“Hustle Hard” just soley came from life, my circumstances at that point in time! Felt like my back was against wall and having a fam to feed it was only right to hustle hard!!!!!
