Historical director Spike Lee promised to screen his semi-autobiographical film Crooklyn under the Brooklyn Bridge last week, but mother nature had other plans.

Although the turnout was well received the rain ruined Lee’s plans to screen his 1994 film Crooklyn. People crowded under the Brooklyn Bridge with blankets and snacks anticipating the movie. Lee was there in person as well.

If you would like to demand a “re-screen”, you can vote at www.brooklynbridgepark.org starting August 25, 2011. Who knows, maybe you’ll even get to meet Spike!

The director took to his Twitter account to personally ask for help.

Is Brooklyn in the house?
