Congratulations to Pharrell Williams, who will be working on the 2012 Academy Awards! He’s been hired to work as a music consultant along with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
This is the first time either Pharrell or Hans has worked on the Academy Awards, but Pharrell has worked in the film arena when he wrote the original score for Despicable Me. He’s also a three time Grammy winner. The Grammy-winning Williams composed the score for the 2010 animated movie “Despicable Me” and his songs have appeared in such films as “Fast & Furious,” “The Brave One,” “Knocked Up” and “Mean Girls.”
Zimmer won the best score Oscar in 1995 for his work on “The Lion King.” He’s received eight other nominations, most recently for 2010’s “Inception.”
