Last year, rapper Wiz Khalifa announced that his sophomore album is entitled, O.N.I.F.C., leaving us to wonder what’s the meaning behind the title. Khalifa revealed that the acronym stands for Only N***a In First Class, during an interview on Shade 45’s Sway in the Morning radio show (via MTV News). The title was inspired by Prodigy of Mobb Deep 2000 debut solo album Head N***a in Charge. “It’s inspired by Prodigy’s H.N.I.C.,” said Khalifa. “When he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong,” added Khalifa.

On the disc, Khalifa also tackles some issues of racism he’s encountered while traveling through airports. “I was just talking about me being a young rich dude and being black,” he explained. “It looks crazy to them when I walk up to them and show them my ticket or I’m going in priority seating, They’re like, ‘You’re sure?’” So far, Khalifa has been in the studio with Pharrell, Chris Brown, and Adam Levine. This will be the follow-up to Khalifa’s debut LP Rolling Papers, which debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 197,000 copies. As of now, the disc has sold over 600,000 copies worldwide.
Khalifa will soon release a new mixtape called Taylor Allderdice which is in reference to the high school he attended in his hometown Pittsburgh.
