Tyrese doesn’t know how the rumor got started, but reports that Transformers director Michael Bay has taken out a restraining order on the singer and Transformers star are false. “It’s complete B.S.,” Bay tells TMZ, with pal Tyrese joining him on the call. “Tyrese has been my buddy for years and that’s how it goes.”

Blogs posted reports on Friday that Tyrese’s frequent references to Bay during interviews had ticked off the director. At least one report cited a source identified as Bay’s cousin, saying, “Michael didn’t like when Tyrese was calling out his name on television, like they were boys. Everywhere Tyrese went, he was calling out Michael’s name. Mike didn’t like that s**t.”

That gossip is far from the truth, say Tyrese and Michael, who hung out on Christmas at Ty’s house.

Tyrese says, “People in the press and media, they’re bored,” adding that the only thing that he and Michael argue about is women. “He’s always trying to outdo me with the girls,” Tyrese jokes.

The guys say they were totally blind-sided by their rumored tiff. “This had to be the biggest joke of 2012,” Tyrese says.
