Maybe Gucci Mane has another challenger on his hands …

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard has a wonderful life with wife Keyshia Cole.

BET’s breakout hit series, Keyshia & Daniel: Family First, which airs Tuesdays 10PM ET/PT, chronicles the life story of Princess of Hip Hop Soul, Keyshia Cole, her husband Daniel Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers and their infant son DJ. Daniel takes time out of his practice schedule to chop it up with Hip Hop Weekly’s Editor-In-Chief Cynthia Horner.

HHW: How do you like having this TV show? That’s such a change for you!
GIBSON: It’s not that big of a change; I mean in basketball ,we play on TV a lot, but having my life played out on TV, that’s a little different. But me and Keyshia talked about it people looking into our life and hopefully some of the things we deal with will help other people who tune into the show.

HHW: Were you nervous about doing a docudrama?
GIBSON: At first when she brought it up the idea was a little hesitant about it; I was a little reluctant because I’m a pretty private person and I like to keep some things to myself. But judging how her previous show had such an impact on young girls out and women there who saw what she was going through and were so inspired by it, I thought I might be able to help a young man or two that tunes into the show. But initially I didn’t want to do it.

HHW: Recently you weighed in on rappers speaking about your wife that was not really complimentary. How does that make you feel when people do that? Do you just brush it off?
GIBSON: I know what is it, but I definitely keep my eye on it so make sure it stays where I am comfortable with it. I think lot of people cry out for attention and the fact that they are using her name shows how successful she is and how much of a star she really is. But that’s how I tend to look at it, and if she ever told me that it upset her or something needs to be done about it, I would handle that situation accordingly.
