Usher got the tracks to make your booty go clap, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing — except on July 4. The R&B singer was asked to help select the music playlist for Macy’s fireworks show, but the beef came when several of the songs he selected were songs by, wait for it … Usher.

Usher caused some fireworks of his own during the Macy’s 4th of July Firework display. The 34-year-old old R&B singer left some viewers unhappy when he included four of his own songs in a row to his playlist that was heard through out the eye-popping show Thursday.
Usher was the first ever artist ever help curate a musical score for the iconic light show over the Hudson River. “Me curating, it’s far more than me just showing up and allowing my name to be on a bill. I wanted to represent America. I wanted people to understand something more about me artistically,” Usher told the Daily News before the show. But some critics believe Usher spent more time representing himself than America with some of his music choices.
Usher’s music choices included Jimi Hendrix’s version of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Blake Shelton with wife Miranda Lambert, Frank Sinatra, and the four of Usher’s songs including “Euphoria,” “Yeah!,” “OMG” and David Guetta’s “Without You” with his vocals.
