Could Lifetime’s film get the red light?
Through her music, the singer known to the world simply as Aaliyah touched the lives of millions. So much so, that fans have been buzzing about the late singer’s upcoming biopic, set to premiere on Lifetime. But not everyone is excited: According to report, Aaliyah’s family is on the attack against “Lifetime” and have vowed to stop production on her biopic. The film, set to begin shooting this summer, will star 17-year-old Disney star Zendaya in the lead role but Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, told TMZ the family is upset that no one from the network contacted them about the movie. Hankerson says the family will block any attempt on Lifetime’s part to use any of Aaliyah’s music.
