[EXCLUSIVE] Jeezy ROCKS OUT at House of Blues Houston!!
STORY AND PHOTOS BY: DARRIN CLIFTON
After a canceled show late last year, fans of multi-platinum artist and CTE Boss, Young Jeezy had to wait patiently for The Snowman to return to Houston, and luckily for them, on Sunday, March 26, 2017, Mr. Trap or Die, didn’t disappoint.
Playing to a sold-out, standing room only crowd at the House of Blues, Jeezy ran through hits from his impressive catalog one-by-one and the Htown crowd didn’t miss a beat, going word-for-word when beckoned to do so. “And Then What”, “Soul Survivor” and “Put On”, received the biggest responses from the faithful fans, as they rapped the entire final verse of featured artist Plies on the latter song.
Opening up the show was Def Jam Recordings artist Lil Durk. A Chicago native, Durk, with hype-man in tow, performed with the passion of a seasoned veteran and was received well by the crowd. While some may not have known his lyrics verbatim, they were definitely moved by his energy during his time on stage.
Before it was time for Jeezy to hit the stage, the newest member of CTE, and Htown representer, Boston George, along with Poone, hit the stage to perform a quick set to let the fans know that Houston was in the building. Dressed in all black with the prerequisite of gold and diamonds to match, BG performed local hit “Molly” before breaking into newer material for the fans in attendance.
As stated earlier, despite the wait for Jeezy to return to Houston, fans did not leave disappointed. After slamming through an hour long set of cult classics, Jeezy thanked the crowd for coming out and gave love and remembrance to all those who we’ve lost along the way, with special shouts going to Houston legends Pimp C and DJ Screw.
As the Trap or Die 3 Tour came to a close, there was one thing left to do and everyone what it was. As the beginning rifts of “All There” f/ Bankroll Fresh (rip) began to play the fans went crazy and Jeezy was right at home. “Dope boy 95 Air Max on ….”
