Chuck Brown, who styled a unique mix of funk, soul and Latin party sounds to create go-go music in the nation’s capital, has died after suffering from pneumonia. He was 75.

Brown, widely acclaimed as the “Godfather of go-go” for his pioneering sound, died Wednesday at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore. Hospital spokesman Gary Stephenson confirmed Brown had died after a hospital stay that began April 18.
Thanks to Brown and his deep, gravelly voice, go-go music was uniquely identified with Washington. That’s where he continued to play the city’s club circuit to a loyal audience late in life.
Mayor Vincent Gray said the nation’s capital will be a different place without him. Mournful admirers of the musician were called Wednesday evening to an impromptu candlelight vigil in Washington, where a sound truck was to blast a special Chuck Brown music mix to the crowd before a prayer session for him.
“Go-go is D.C.’s very own unique contribution to the world of pop music,” he said. “Today is a very sad day for music lovers the world over.” Read More

G-Unit leader 50 Cent has finally talked about sharing an in-ring moment with former rap nemesis Lil Wayne after Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s recent boxing victory and why Justin Bieber also got in on the action.

Fif said there was no bad blood between him and Weezy following Mayweather’s defeat of Miguel Cotto earlier this month.

“Floyd has a huge passion for music that people don’t know about,” 50 explained. “It’s a big part of what makes him comfortable and takes his mind off of how hard he has to work to stay being the #1 fighter in the world. With Wayne’s music momentum, he’s a part of that; he’s been a part of the playlist, so it’s cool.” After Floyd dusted off Cotto in a unanimous decision, he, Bieber, Weezy and 50 all celebrated in the ring and even posed for a few pictures. Though Fif sported his patented menacing scowl, he insists that there was no problem whatsoever. “The pictures, when I’m not paying attention, they take some really weird facial expressions of me,” he said. “I’m like, ‘What the f— was I thinking at that point?’ It’s nothing there to make me feel uncomfortable.”

Despite the media being banned from hearing all of the gory details concerning Usher and Tameka Raymond’s custody battle, some information is still hitting the internet.

The Grammy award winning singer testified his ex-wife went through 11 nannies and that all of them claimed Tameka barely left her room because she was so depressed. According to one of the nannies, Tameka told her, “They’re upstairs.” Also one of the boys had to tell the nanny he was allergic to peanuts because his mother neglected to do so.

Another nanny alleged she was forced to sit in a car with one of the Raymond boys while Tameka attended a basketball game because there weren’t enough tickets to go around. This incident happened during a trip to Miami. The last gripe a nanny had about Tameka was that she said she was going to the movies, but didn’t come back for three days.

Though the nannies went in on Tameka, Usher was not exempt from the drama. Usher was accused of sending the boys home after teaching them new cuss words and he was accused of sleeping with two of the bridesmaids.

I see said the blind man. And now…

Sounds like marriage is about the most expensive way for the average man to get laundry done.

According to a well-placed source at Kevin Frazier’s Hip Hollywood entertainment site, both Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall will not be returning to The Game next season. Tia even confirmed it on Twitter.

Is it even possible for the show to go on without those two? The ups and downs of Derwin’s relationship with Melanie was the central plot that held the show together from the beginning. Although an exact reason for their departure hasn’t been given or confirmed yet, Pooch is said to be working on a new Showtime series titled, ‘Ray Donovan’ and Tia has been busy filming her reality show with her sister as well as promoting her new parenting book, ‘Oh Baby: Pregnancy Tales and Advice From One Hot Mama To The Next’. A few weeks ago, Pooch Hall told his followers that, although he is filming a new Showtime series that he is still able to do ‘The Game’ and he was hoping that BET worked it out so it looks as though it may have all come down to maybe getting more money per episode.

Yesterday Tuesday (May 15), rapper T.I. appeared on Hot 97‘s (The Angie Martinez Show) to debut his new single “Like That”. While there, The ATLien announced that his new album, entitled Trouble Man will be dropping on September 4, just a day after the premiere of the second season of T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle. DJ Drama was also in attendance and he spoke briefly about his upcoming 50 Cent Gangsta Grillz mixtape.

The official 2012 announcement was held in Los Angeles at the House Of Blues and the festival will be reuniting Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and The Hit Squad. The show will also feature performances from Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa, Nas, J. Cole, Ice Cube, Mac Miller, Dipset, Kendrick Lamar, Method Man & Redman, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, 2 Chainz, Missy Elliott & Timbaland, Prodigy and more.

The festival venues this year are NOS Event in San Bernardino(8/18-8/19), Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View (8/25-8/26) and PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey (9/1-9/2).
