While MTV’s RapFix (hip hop talk show partially created by Sway) approaches it’s 1 year anniversary, Calloway shows no signs of slowing down at the same time still finding ways to reinvent media culture.
Back in March, rapper Wiz Khalifa released his gold-selling LP, entitled Rolling Papers. The disc debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling over 197,000 copies in the first week. The Pittsburgh native is already working on his new album. “Yeah, I’ve started working on a next album just to get a feel for where I’m going with it,” Wiz told MTV News on the BMI Urban Awards red carpet last month. Khalifa also announced that “No Sleep” is the fourth single off the album.
The wait is almost over. Lupe Fisaco’s new mixtape, entitled Friend Of The People will be available this Fall. According to Emperor Lu (LL) over at KTT, he recently spoke to Lupe in Toronto and he reports that Lupe said his mixtape will probably drop on Thanksgiving Thursday (November 24). In support of his gold-selling album Lasers, Fiasco is embarking on a United States “Generation Laser” tour. The tour kicked off on September 1st in his hometown Chicago.
