As most of you Hip-Hoppers probably know by now, Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music is working on a compilation album. The disc is scheduled for release this spring. Frank Ocean, Marsha Ambrosius, and Jay Electronica are rumored to be featured on or working on the album. Last week, producer Mannie Fresh flew to London to record with Yeezy and his G.O.O.D. Music family. Fresh was photo’d in the studio with Pusha T and Big Sean. Sounds like this is going to be a dope album. Peep the tweets below:
Last night Tuesday (January 17), sure was a nice evening in Miami, to film a visual. Def Jam/We The Best rapper Ace Hood linked up with Ricky Rozay to begin filming their visual for “The Realest Living,” which is featured on Hood’s latest mixtape, entitled The Statement 2. It’s been 14 years since the release of Brandy and Monica’s award winning duet “The Boy is Mine.” The record was internationally number-one on pop charts, making it a first for both artists. The singers are back in the studio, together and has a release date for their 2012 duet.
From the jail cell back to the trap. Gucci Mane will be releasing his new mixtape, entitled Trap Back on Super Bowl Sunday (February 5). The disc is hosted by DJ Holiday. On the cover, paparazzi are flashing pictures of Gooch, while he is sitting in his car, in the trap. This is Gooch first mixtape since being released from jail last month. Harlem’s singer, dancer and actress Teyana Taylor has officially been released from her contractual agreement with Star Trak/Interscope Records. Taylor, who signed to Pharrell Williams’ Star Trak label almost six years ago and is most known for her dope party on MTV‘s “My Super Sweet 16″ is in the studio working on an EP, entitled The Mis-Understanding Of Teyana Taylor. Last night Monday (January 16), New York’s Power 105.1 radio personality Cherry Martinez interviewed Philly’s emcee Charli Baltimore for #GirlPowerMondays. The twosome covered a variety of topics during their interview, such as The Notorious B.I.G., Murder Inc, her album and movie Gang of Roses 2. Baltimore album will be out in April. “Working on an album, well actually, we’re finishing up the album. The album will be out in April. This past Friday (January 13), platinum-selling female rappers Lil Kim and Trina co-hosted a party at Club IMAX in Tampa, Florida. Lil Kim was dropping it low to Drake and Lil Wayne’s “The Motto.” The Queen Bee also performed “Lighters Up” and “Magic Stick.” Rising Atlanta rapper Future was also there partying with Kim and Trina.
